Skuna Bay Salmon Chef Challenge

Chefs Compete to Represent Skuna Bay Salmon® at Taste of Derby™ Kentucky Derby®Culinary Experience.


The Fish Guys, supplier of Skuna Bay Salmon in the Upper Midwest, is pleased to
announce one of the ten semi-finalists for Skuna Bay Chef Challenge, David
Yusefzadeh of the Smack Shack.

What is the Skuna Bay Chef Challenge?

In March, Chefs across the country entered their most amazing
Skuna Bay Salmon recipes to Skuna Bay. Thirty chefs were selected to compete in
ten cooking competitions across America. One chef from each event emerged for
the Semi-Finals of ten chefs to compete in Chicago on April 15 or Los Angeles
on April 18.

One chef at each of the Semi-Finals will win and
travel to Louisville, KY for the Finals on May 1, 2013 for the Kentucky Derby. Each
finalist chef will be paired with a Mentor Chef who will guide them through the
final round and help with the recipe and support and will go head to head in
the kitchen for the win and recognition in a national ad in Saveur Magazine.

The winner will be announced at A Kentucky Derby® Culinary Experience.

About David Yusefzadeh

Chef David graduated from Johnson and Wales University in
Charleston, South Carolina with an Associate’s Degree of Culinary Arts. He worked
in various restaurants in Atlanta and Minneapolis until moving to Hong Kong in
2009. David worked at Amber Restaurant (2 Michelin Star) at the Mandarin
Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong before transferring to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel
in Boston. He spent two year in Boston and then moved to Minneapolis to open
the Smack Shack and work with Minneapolis chef Josh Thoma.
